About this role
Clifton College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic English/SEND Learning Support Teacher to join our Upper School Learning Support Department on a permanent, part-time basis (0.8 FTE) from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and skilled educator to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, and play a key role in helping pupils to develop confidence, independence, and academic success through both one-to-one teaching and small group support. The successful candidate will primarily support pupils in Year 9-11 with English, Humanities and study skills. Group sizes are intentionally small, enabling highly personalised teaching and meaningful pupil progress. There may also be opportunities to teach additional subjects alongside English/SEND Learning Support.
We are looking for a teacher who:
Has experience teaching English and/or other essay-based subjects to secondary-aged pupils;
Has experience supporting pupils with additional educational needs;
Is committed to inclusive education and adaptive teaching;
Can inspire pupils to become confident, independent, and reflective learners;
Values collaboration and enjoys working as part of a close-knit and ambitious team.
In addition to delivering high-quality teaching, the successful candidate will contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular involvement and House/Tutor responsibilities. They will also work closely with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the support and encouragement they need to thrive.
