About this role
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced School Nurse to provide high-quality nursing and first aid care to pupils and the wider school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in promoting pupil health, wellbeing and safeguarding within a supportive pastoral environment.
Working closely with the Deputy Head (Pastoral), safeguarding team, staff, parents and external agencies, the successful candidate will support pupils with a wide range of physical and mental health needs, oversee the day-to-day running of the Medical Centre, and contribute to health promotion across the school.
Key responsibilities include:
● Providing clinically effective nursing and first aid care
● Supporting pupil wellbeing through drop-in sessions and pastoral care
● Managing care plans for pupils with long-term or complex health conditions
● Contributing to safeguarding and child protection processes
● Delivering health education and supporting the PSHE programme
● Training staff in first aid and specific medical needs
● Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
