Senior Teaching Assistant - Team Lead

We are looking for a Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant to line manage a cohort of STAs, supporting students from a range of backgrounds with vision impairment: to effectively access their courses within a partnership college or from the college hub; to work with a range of college specialists and professionals to ensure that the students experience is rich and varied, thus contributing to developing their independence and wellbeing; to provide discreet management and guidance to STAs setting high standard of work. The main purpose of this role is to: Line manage a small cohort of Specialist Teaching Assistants Liaise with the Deputy Hub Lead and Hub Lead to ensure consistency of support in the Orpington/Bromley site and that Leadership Team messaging and direction is passed to Orpington/Bromley-based staff. Promote the students’ independence in learning and skills and to support them in a learning environment Provide input into student record-keeping documentation in a timely fashion such as: o student progress and achievement o annual review reports o therapies plans Ensure that all resourcing is available and timely for students You will have: GCSEs (or Level 2) in English and Maths Excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills The ability to work with a range of stakeholders and internal and external agencies The ability to manage and motivate a small team, undertaking all appropriate management processes and policies including 1-1s, annual reviews, probationary documentation and meetings, return to work interviews following sickness and keeping Cascade records up to date and current The ability to use ICT s
