About this role

Mayville Academy is excited to announce the opening of a specialist SEMH provision in September 2026, the successful candidate will manage this unit 1 day per week, they will work in collaboration with the Head Teacher to ensure the success of this unit. Four pupils will be admitted to this provision on opening and the full capacity will be 10 pupils. Mayville Academy is a well-established school in the United Kingdom dedicated to providing high-quality education and support for all students. We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Part Time Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join our team. This role is ideal for a passionate professional who has a strong commitment to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive tailored learning opportunities that help them thrive. The successful candidate will have passed and completed the NASENCO or completing the NPQ SENCO qualification. Position: Part Time SENDCo Location: Mayville Academy, United Kingdom Minimum Experience: 6 years Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a clear and strategic vision for the SRP. - Oversee the design of individual curricular and tailored learning strategies within the SRP. - Lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across the school. - Develop, implement, and review individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies. - Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND best practices. - Monitor progress of SEND pupils and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. - Liaise effectively with families, professionals, and local authorities. Skills and Qualifications: - Minimum of 6 years’ experience working within SEN settings or as a SENDCo. - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). - National Award for SEN Coordination or equivalent qualification. - Strong knowledge of current SEND legislation, frameworks
