The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Music Graduate Assistant to join a thriving Music Department on a part-time, fixed-term basis. This role is ideal for a music graduate who is looking to gain valuable experience in one of the UK's leading independent schools.
The successful candidate will support the Director of Music and work closely with the Drama Department, helping to deliver a varied and engaging music programme. This will include:
Organising and administering ABRSM and Trinity music examinations
Submitting recordings for performance exams
Processing parent payments
Supporting and, where appropriate, leading music ensembles
Scheduling and registering co-curricular activities
Helping to organise concerts, performances, and music events
Coordinating weekly instrumental lessons with peripatetic music teachers
You will need excellent interpersonal, administrative and organisational skills, with a flexible approach, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will have a good level of musicianship coupled with a working knowledge of different musical genres and the ability to support small ensembles. A genuine enthusiasm for music education and a commitment to helping students develop their musical abilities are also essential.
