Wycombe Abbey seeks a proactive and organised Science Technician (Biology) to support the efficient and smooth running of the Biology provision within the Science Department. This practical role ensures that laboratories are well‑prepared, safe and fully equipped, enabling high‑quality teaching and learning.
Reports to: Senior Lab Technician and Head of Biology.
Contract: This is a part‑time, permanent contract. The first three months will be a probationary period.
Hours of Work: 22 hours per week during term time, plus two weeks per annum during school holidays. The working pattern will be agreed with the Senior Lab Technician.
Holiday: Included within school holidays, in line with the term‑time nature of the role.
As Science Technician (Biology), you will play a key role in supporting practical teaching within the Biology discipline. Responsibilities include preparing and setting up equipment and materials for lessons, maintaining laboratory resources, managing stock and ordering supplies, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements and supporting practical examinations. You will also maintain clean and organised laboratory spaces, liaise with teaching staff and contribute to departmental activities and student enrichment opportunities.
