Job Purpose:
To provide strategic leadership for the Primary School, aligning with the School's vision to deliver academic excellence and a holistic Harrovian education. This role will lead the effective development and implementation of a primary curriculum that builds the foundations for HKDSE/IBDP studies in secondary, and a robust pupil wellbeing programme. As a Deputy DSL, the post holder will ensure the highest safeguarding standards. The post holder will foster a high-performance teaching culture, lead professional development, and oversee daily operations to cultivate a bi-literate, trilingual (Cantonese, Mandarin, English) learning environment that empowers pupils to become independent, accomplished learners.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
Qualifications:
Education teacher training recognised in Hong Kong (or the UK/ mainland China), or other equivalent teaching qualification giving QTS, and teaching and management experience in Primary / Lower School.
Proficiency in English for teaching and professional communication purposes.
Evidence of relevant and challenging continuing professional development.
Acceptable personal and professional background checks with the ability to be allocated unsupervised access to children (as reported via an International Child Protection Certificate background check and/or appropriate police and other checks from relevant countries of present and previous residence/work.
Knowledge:
A strong understanding of effective classroom pedagogical practice within a primary level setting.
Familiarity with the National Curriculum of England at KS1 and KS2, and the Primary Curriculum issued by the Curriculum Development Council, Hong Kong.
Experience:
Working experience and knowledge of the teaching the Primary Humanities / General Studies / Citizenship and Social Development Curriculum issued by the CDCHK.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Primary School teacher and a minimum of 2
