This role offers the opportunity to lead the Food Science curriculum up to Key Stage 4, inspiring students to develop practical skills and a deep understanding of food technology.
Position: Food Technology - Subject Lead
Education Stage: Secondary (Key Stage 3 and 4)
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Contract: 1 year fixed term
Responsibilities include leading the planning, delivery, and assessment of the Food Science curriculum; managing resources; supporting colleagues within the department; and promoting student engagement through innovative teaching practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
- Minimum of three years’ experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of Key Stage 4 curriculum requirements for GSCE Food Preparation and Nutrition
- Proven leadership skills with experience in subject coordination or team management.
- Ability to design engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, staff, parents, and external partners.
- Competence in using educational technology tools relevant to food technology teaching.
