About this role

This specific teaching assistant post is to support students for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL) department. Ideally, the candidate would be able to speak either Arabic or Portuguese in addition to being fully fluent in English so were able to translate in meetings or phone calls with parents. The role will involve supporting students and teachers in class and you will also need to deliver content in small groups. We are looking for applicants who have the ability to relate well to our students, staff and parents and work constructively as part of a team. You will be keen to work with students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will need to be flexible, organised and have a good sense of humour. This post would be ideal for enthusiastic people who have aspirations to be teachers. If you would like to gain experience in working within a secondary school and have the opportunity to do the School Direct course in future, this may be a possibility. Alternatively, applicants who have studied a TEFL course would be very much welcomed.
