We have an exciting opportunity for an established or newly qualified teacher to join our team as an Art and Design Teacher
About the role:
The role of an Art Teacher centres on designing and delivering art sessions that help students develop creativity,
fine‑motor skills and self‑esteem. You will introduce a range of materials and approaches, break tasks into clear,
manageable steps and offer steady encouragement throughout. Creating a warm, predictable routine will help
students feel confident as they explore and enjoy making art.
What we are looking for:
A teacher who is able to:
Show strong subject knowledge and a clear understanding of the Art and Design and Design Technology curriculum (Key stage 3
curriculum, Visual Art Entry Level 1 to Level 2 and GCSE Art and Design)
Plan and deliver engaging, adaptive lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN
Be adaptable and flexible, ready to embrace new ideas and approaches that effectively support students with SEN
Know, understand and contribute to the Educational Health Care Plans of each student they work with
Support the wellbeing and educational needs of young people with SEN
Have a relationships first ethos and an understanding of emotion coaching and the restorative approach
Show sensitivity in listening to young people’s situations and the ability to communicate positively and effectively to reach solutions
Actively and proactively look ahead, predicting and preventing barriers to success

Salary and Hours:
Salary: Teacher - M1-UPS plus SEN allowance £2,787
This is a permanent vacancy (5 days per week)
Hours 32.5 Hours per week (8:30am Start)
