Transport Technician

We are seeking to appoint a skilled, proactive, and professional Transport Technician to join our dedicated transport team. In this dual-aspect role, you will combine technical awareness with exceptional driving standards to ensure our fleet is safe, compliant, and ready for service. Reporting directly to the Logistics and Transport Manager / Deputy Transport Manager, you will work as part of a professional fleet team where this rewarding position effectively balances driving duties on daily routes and off-site fixtures with essential fleet maintenance. The post holder will exercise keen initiative to undertake daily vehicle safety inspections, maintain strict standards of vehicle cleanliness, and proactively manage fleet compliance, defect tracking, and on-site vehicle readiness checks to ensure continuous operational safety. To excel in this role, you need to work exceptionally well both independently managing fleet readiness on-site and out on the road, as well as acting as a core part of a cooperative transport team. Outstanding time management and excellent interpersonal skills are essential, alongside a natural ability to relate positively to young people, parents, and colleagues. Candidates must be able to reliably travel to the College to meet scheduled morning route start times.
