About this role
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Trainee Teacher of PE. This is a one-year training position starting in August 2026.
You must be committed to train as an active and innovative teacher and be passionate about PE. The course pathway leads to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Our commitment is to provide the best possible education for every student that we serve. We are a fully inclusive Catholic Sixth Form College with a diverse and multi-cultural student body of 1100 16- to 19-year-old Sixth Form students and 110 members of staff.
You will study for your teaching qualification one day per week. General Practice training will be delivered at St Charles Borromeo Teaching Hub on Wednesday morning followed by Subject training in the afternoon.
Alongside your training, you will work as a teacher on a reduced timetable four days per week in a well-resourced P.E department that provides an exciting environment in which to deliver your skills as a teacher. You will be allocated a mentor for your training year; this will be an experienced subject specialist and will have 1.5 hours of protected time per week to support your development.
This is a fixed-term role for one year (the length of time of your training course). The salary will be paid at Unqualified Teachers Pay Scale Point 1: £28,342, inclusive of Inner London Weighting.
