JOB TITLE: Teaching Assistant Level 2 (SEND) SCHOOL: Smithills School WORKING PATTERN: 28 hrs 45 mins per week Term time plus 5 INSET days CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent Position SALARY: Grade D Points 6 to 11 £25,989 to £28,142 PA PRO RATA Actual Salary at point 6 approx £17,282 CLOSING DATE: Thursday 11th June at 9:00am INTERVIEW DATE: w/c 15th June 2026 THE ROLE: We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified candidate to join our team of Teaching Assistants in a successful and forward thinking department. You will work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction/instruction of teaching &/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils and assistance and support in classroom management and behaviour techniques. ABOUT YOU: You will have the ability to support the teacher in planning, delivering and evaluating learning activities to ensure effective teaching and learning and the ability to give feedback in a constructive manner. You will be able to contribute to positive relationships with pupils and adults through communication and interaction and provide effective support for colleagues through differentiation and a proactive approach in and out of a classroom setting.
