Role: Teacher – Sociology and Criminology
Location: The Bedford Sixth Form
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Teacher.
Hours/Weeks: 25.9 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Part Time

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Teacher of Sociology and Criminology to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Teacher, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
· Teaching, Learning & Student Development – Deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching within Sixth Form, developing students’ knowledge, skills and curiosity to support progression and achievement.
· Curriculum Planning & Delivery – Plan, prepare and deliver structured lessons, maintaining a high‑quality learning environment and contributing proactively to curriculum development.
· Assessment, Progress & Achievement – Provide timely assessment and feedback, monitor student progress and contribute to improving retention, attainment and overall student outcomes.
· Enrichment, Engagement & Student Experience – Organise extracurricular activities, trips and events, enhancing the student experience and supporting personal development.
· Professional Practice, Collaboration & Compliance – Participate in CPD, performance reviews and college activities, while upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and organisational standards.
