MEDIA at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College
The College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, high performing and enthusiastic individual to the full-time post of Teacher of Media Studies, who will lead and inspire students. As student numbers continue to grow in this area and with the additional launch of our new T Level Media Broadcast and Production, we are excited to look for an additional member of staff in this area. You should have a track record of outstanding success and be committed to providing the highest quality education for all students.
Media Studies is a high performing department, with a track record of achieving outstanding ALPs, value added demonstrating year on year excellent progress. The department is lively, dynamic and progressive in terms of its approaches to delivering the specifications we offer. There is a wealth of experience and professional knowledge and an encouragement to undertake CPD.
The department has made a major contribution to the academic standing of the College locally with extensive enrichment provision and prestigious visiting speakers. All programmes are delivered in recently refurbished accommodation with high specification specialist podcast, sound studio and IT resources.
MAIN DUTIES
Teaching and Learning:
· To provide high quality learning, teaching and assessment in accordance with the duties of a main scale teacher and in accordance with the College’s policies
· To follow the principles of Rosenshine to embed and further develop effective teaching and learning strategies.
· To monitor and track each learner’s achievement according to value added criteria, assessment and attendance in order to ensure each learner is able to fulfil their potential.
