Derby College Group (DCG) is recruiting a part-time Teacher of Horticulture to join our team at the beautiful Broomfield Hall campus. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our Level 2 Practical Horticulture Skills programme, teaching and assessing modules such as planting, propagation, pruning, fertilisers and building walls and structures. The Opportunity In this role, you’ll be responsible for the preparation, delivery, and assessment of teaching a Level 2 horticulture programme, ensuring that agreed performance and quality standards are consistently met. A key part of the role will be carrying out personal tutor responsibilities, delivering the tutorial programme, and ensuring that students are supported to achieve their qualification. About You We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of the horticulture sector and hands-on horticulture industry experience, ideally with experience across a variety of industry settings. You’ll have previous experience of teaching students within an educational setting. Experience of teaching the City & Guilds Practical Horticulture Skills qualification at Level 2 is desirable, alongside up‑to‑date industry CPD and experience. Holding a recognised teaching qualification, prior Further Education teaching and assessment experience would be a strong advantage.
