About the Role
Goffs Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of History to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate students across Key Stages 3 to 5, fostering a love for History while delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the academic and personal development of our students, contributing to the school’s ethos and vision.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons to students of varying ages and abilities, following the school’s curriculum.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Prepare students for qualifications and external examinations, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a safe and productive learning environment.
Participate in extracurricular activities, including trips, social events, and sporting activities, to enrich the student experience.
Undertake pastoral duties, such as acting as a form tutor and supporting students with academic or personal challenges.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student learning and wellbeing.
Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies, practices, and procedures.
Engage in professional development activities, including regular training and observations, to enhance teaching practice.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree relevant to History (essential).
Proven experience teaching History across KS3 to KS5 with good or outstanding outcomes, or strong observations for early career teachers (essential).
Excellent knowledge of teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
Strong organisational skills, time management, and the ability to use data effectively for lesson planning.
Proficiency in ICT to support teaching and learning.
