About this role
Thank you for your interest in the Teacher of History post at Haberdashers' Abraham Darby. We have an excellent opportunity for an inspirational, innovative and enthusiastic full-time teacher of History to join us from September 2026 who can deliver a varied curriculum at Key Stages 3/4/5. If you are passionate that pupils should access a rich curriculum from 11-18, meaningful enrichment and opportunities to think beyond the classroom - then this role is for you!
We believe that every single child who joins us has the potential to be knowledgeable, articulate and successful. It is important this resonates with all candidates. Equally important is subject expertise, which is critical to support strong curriculum planning and implementation. You will have high standards for your pupils and you will be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school (extra-curricular activities). We are looking for someone who is able to enthuse, motivate and inspire children, generating a love for learning.
This is a full-time post and is suitable for both experienced qualified teachers and ECTs. We welcome applications from forward-thinking and creative colleagues who have a genuine passion for History and would relish the opportunity to share their skills and expertise with our pupils. Ideally we are looking for someone who wants to make their mark in helping take the department and the Academy to the next level. The successful candidate will join us at a very exciting stage in its development both as a school and a department.
Our pupils are delightful. We are minutes away from Ironbridge Gorge and some beautiful countryside and we'd love to have you on our team. We look forward to receiving your application soon!
