Lichfield Cathedral School is a flourishing co-educational independent school in Staffordshire for ages 2 to 18. Due to the continued growth of the school, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational person to join our strong and dedicated team, working in the beautiful and historic surroundings of the Cathedral Close. The successful candidate will teach Geography to highly motivated pupils from Years 7 to 13. The capacity to offer BTEC Travel and Tourism may be an advantage.
We have high expectations of our students, and teach the subject in a lively and stimulating way that encourages them to develop a love for the subject. A wide variety of approaches and teaching methods are used to develop students’ key geographical knowledge, skills and their independence as learners.
The Department contributes strongly to the school’s extra-curricular programme, also running a wide range of field trips and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in their organisation and leadership, depending upon experience. The most recent residential fieldtrips have been to Iceland, The Azores, Sicily and Mid and North Wales. Day visits have been organised to a wide variety of UK locations.
