Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls is an independent all-girls secondary school for students aged 11–16, located on the Fielden Campus, West Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2PQ. West Didsbury is an affluent suburb of South Manchester, ideally situated with easy access to bus and tram routes into Manchester city centre. It is a vibrant area, offering a balance of cosmopolitan energy and a village-like atmosphere.
We are a relatively small school of approximately 270 students. Alongside our partner schools, KD Grammar School for Boys and Manchester Muslim Preparatory School, we form part of the highly successful Manchester Islamic Educational Trust, founded in 1991. We have been rated Outstanding in our last three Ofsted inspections.
Our mission is to prepare, engage, and enthuse our students by helping them identify their talents and build on their strengths. We offer a fully enriched SMSC programme, enabling students to demonstrate their skills beyond the classroom and develop into responsible adults who contribute positively to both their communities and the wider society. As a Muslim school, faith is at the heart of everything we do and is central to the school’s ethos.
Our English curriculum is delivered across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing students with a strong foundation in reading, writing, and literacy. At Key Stage 3, students explore a wide range of literary and non-literary texts, including prose poetry and drama developing their analytical and creative skills. GCSE and Exam Boards: At Key Stage 4, students follow the AQA GCSE syllabus for both English Language and English Literature.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed, and highly motivated teacher with proven leadership qualities to lead the department.
