Students study the AQA Economics and Edexcel Business A level specifications. We also offer the Cambridge Technical Business Extended Certificate and Diploma for students taking a more vocational pathway. We are looking to introduce GCSE Business Studies from September 2027. All courses are extremely popular and this is a growing department. The department is led by our Head of Economics and Business, and with the addition of this role, will comprise three teachers in all. All classrooms have interactive white boards with full wireless internet access for all pupils. All pupils have laptops and we use Google Classroom as our teaching and learning platform. We also use a range of educationally-approved AI platforms such as Magic School and our Sixth Formers have access to UpLearn at A level. Whilst experience in the use of these products would be advantageous, full training will be given as necessary to the successful candidate. Academic lessons are taught from Monday to Friday allowing time on Saturday mornings for our ACE Programme (Academic and Co-Curricular Enrichment). In the life of our busy boarding school, teachers are expected to deliver enrichment activities on approximately 50% of Saturdays.
