Teacher of Art

Pensby High School is an 11-16 co-educational and non-selective secondary school, situated on the Wirral, in a highly selective local authority. We are currently looking to employ a Teacher of Art to join our successful Art, Photography and Design Technology department. We are committed to placing the development of teachers and therefore pupils’ learning at the forefront of what we do. As a result, pupil outcomes are high when compared to national figures, but particularly strong when compared to similar schools. The school is oversubscribed in every year and staff turnover is low.
In addition, all staff have access to Benenden Health care, family friendly working policy and opportunities for personal development to support individuals in their role and career.
The area contributes to the school’s overall success, gaining strong results in terms of attainment and progress above national norms. This is as a result of consistently good teaching, staff working to support each other and develop the day-to-day experience for pupils.
The core function of the post is to teach Art, with the possibility of additional opportunities in the wider creative curriculum. The ability to teach at key stage 3 and 4 are essential for this post. New appointments are supported by a tailored coaching programme and all staff contribute to a collegiate coaching programme.
The successful candidates will be expected to:
• Teach, you will have the opportunity to teach all aspects of Art across key stage 3 and 4
· Support the wider creative curriculum at KS3
• Display and promote excellence in teaching and learning
• Inspire pupils
• Have a commitment to raising achievement
