Term time plus three weeks in school closure periods (45.6 weeks per annum) • Five days a week, (42.5 hours - hours 8.30am to 5.00pm including 30 mins a day for lunch)

The Sixth Form is a thriving part of King Alfred and has benefitted from significant development over the last few years. In September 2021, we opened our new £1.5 million Sixth Form Block – a signal of the importance of this part of the school.
The current Sixth Form has approximately 120 students, offering 27 A Level subjects and UAL Level 3 qualifications in Music, and in Performance and Production Arts. Roughly two-thirds of Year 11 stay on, and we recruit up to 30 external students each year.
We are looking for a Sixth Form Support Officer (non-teaching) who will be responsible for:
Attendance Monitoring and Intervention
Pastoral Student Support
Operations, Reporting and Stakeholder Liaison
Academic and Co-Curricular Programme Support
The post-holder should have:
a good honours degree or equivalent (essential)
an excellent standard of written and spoken English
a proven interest and experience of working in a school or education setting (desirable)
ability to build positive relationships with parents
Highly proficient IT skills including Microsoft 365 and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity or willingness to learn how to use information systems such as SIMS and CPOMS
