About this role
We are seeking to recruit a talented and qualified singing teacher to join our team of Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs), from September 2026 . This is a self-employed position and the amount of work available will depend upon the number of pupils wishing to take individual singing lessons. In the first instance, we are recruiting a well-qualified singing teacher to take on individual pupils in the Prep School for approximately 3 hours per week; however it is likely these numbers will increase with demand and incorporate teaching across both Prep and Senior schools.
The successful candidate should have a proven track record of teaching both Classical and Musical Theatre and/or Pop Singing to pupils of a wide range of ages. Candidates selected for interview will be required to demonstrate this.
The Director of Music is responsible for the organisation of all VMTs, all of whom must undertake whole school INSET involving safe-guarding of children. Lessons are to be charged to parents at the rate of £18.75 inc vat per half hour lesson.
For more details, please review the job description on the School's website vacancy page.
Applications should be submitted, as soon as possible and no later than 12pm on Friday, 24th July 2026. The school reserves the right to shortlist and recruit a candidate prior to the deadline date, which is why early submission of application forms is advisable.
Please submit your completed application form to the Director of Music (Mrs Lucy Miller) at lucy.miller@yarmschool.org; CVs may also be submitted but are not a substitute for the application form.
