We are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly organised and skilled Senior Learning Support Assistant to join our Support for Learning team, taking a lead role in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provision across the school.
This is a key role within the team, requiring a proactive and reflective practitioner who can combine high-quality in-class support with the ability to design, deliver and evaluate targeted SEMH interventions. You will work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals, contributing strategically to the identification, planning and monitoring of provision for students with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
In addition to delivering high-quality classroom support, the successful candidate will:
• Work in close liaison with the SENDCo to identify students who would benefit from SEMH interventions.
• Develop personalised targets informed by student voice, teacher and parent feedback, and collaboration with the pastoral team, alongside the use of assessment tools such as the SDQ, Boxall Profile, Communication People Assessment and other relevant frameworks
• Plan, deliver and review targeted SEMH interventions, ensuring they are responsive to individual student needs
• Assess and review progress at 6-weekly intervals against personalised targets, including the creation and evaluation of Learning Plans using Provision Map where appropriate
