About this role

The Children's House is a well-established school in the United Kingdom dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all children. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join us as a SENCo, Inclusion Lead, Designated Safeguarding Lead, and Senior Mental Health Lead on a maternity cover basis for 1 Year from September 2026 covering Maternity Leave, Fixed Term Contract. Position: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) - Maternity Cover Location: The Children's House, United Kingdom Minimum Experience: 3 years We are open to considering Part Time (Min 3 Days) or Full Time Candidates Role Overview: This multifaceted role involves leading our special educational needs provision, promoting inclusion across the school, ensuring safeguarding policies are upheld as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and supporting mental health initiatives as the Senior Mental Health Lead. The successful candidate will work closely with staff, pupils, parents, and external agencies to create an environment where every child can thrive. Skills and Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in SEND coordination or related roles within education. - Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification. - Proven knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices. - Experience in safeguarding procedures with ability to act confidently as Designated Safeguarding Lead. - Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting children and young people; experience leading mental health support initiatives preferred. - Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals. - Organisational skills including record keeping, assessment tracking, planning interventions and managing caseloads efficiently.
