Teacher – REAL Alternative Provision (City Hub, Nottingham)
Are you a teacher who believes every young person deserves to feel seen, valued and capable of success?
Do you thrive in environments where relationships matter just as much as curriculum?
If so, REAL Alternative Provision in Nottingham City wants to meet you.
About the Role
We're looking for a passionate, resilient and creative Teacher to join our REAL City Hub team. You'll work with pupils who have often felt let down by mainstream education — young people who need someone who can teach and truly connect.
You'll deliver high‑quality teaching across a broad curriculum, with knowledge of Maths at KS3/KS4 along with Functional Skills being particularly advantageous. Additional subject strengths or personal interests are welcomed; they help us offer a rich, engaging and flexible learning experience.
What Teaching Looks Like Here
Small groups of 3–6 learners, allowing you to build meaningful relationships and tailor learning effectively.
Some 1:1 teaching, especially to support transition into group learning.
TA support available, including 1:1 targeted work under your direction and TA allocation for groups of 4–6 where needed.
Adaptive, relational teaching that prioritises engagement, wellbeing and progress.
Holistic curriculum delivery, blending academic, personal and life‑skills learning.
Manageable planning and marking, with a strong emphasis on creativity, innovation and pupil voice.
What You'll Do
Set ambitious, personalised targets and track progress using robust baseline assessments.
Deliver engaging lessons that support academic, personal and wellbeing outcomes.
Use relational and restorative approaches to behaviour and engagement.
Create safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environments.
Work closely with specialist staff, families and external agencies to support reintegration or next‑step pathways.
