Secondary Teacher and IB Business Management / Economics

Oak House School has a school population of 1100+ students. The successful candidate should be able to cater for English as an additional language as many of our students speak English as a second or third language. Furthermore, the successful candidate must be open and willing to undertake professional training and have a reflective attitude towards their own practice, striving for excellence in all aspects of their practice. Qualifications: Degree in Economics or related subject plus PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification Ed or MA (desirable) IB qualifications (desirable) Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience of teaching Economics and Business Management in Key Stage 5/International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in English (desirable but not essential) Experience of mixed-ability classrooms and EAL needs in mainstream classes Experience of teaching IB (desirable) International experience (desirable) A good level of Spanish is an advantage Skills for the Role Long term commitment to the students in your care and for the wider school community, passion for teaching and learning and genuine enthusiasm for delivering the academic, pastoral and enriched curriculums Knowledge of a range of relevant educational software and the ability to learn school specific platforms To communicate clearly to parents, students and colleagues and resolve any issues quickly and professionally To communicate effectively in writing, verbally and in different settings with various audiences To demonstrate outstanding classroom practice and/or the willingness to develop these skills Competencies for the Role To be approachable to children, parents, and staff.
