Secondary Cover Teacher

We are seeking a flexible, resilient, and enthusiastic Secondary Cover Teacher to support our vibrant secondary teaching team. This role is essential in ensuring continuity of student learning by covering lessons across various subjects in the absence of classroom teachers. The ideal candidate will maintain a focused and engaging classroom environment while supporting students’ academic development and well-being. Responsibilities Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects for students in Secondary School , ensuring continuity and quality of learning. Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and well-being. Communicate lesson objectives clearly and guide students through activities in a structured and supportive manner. Manage classroom behavior effectively, maintaining high expectations aligned with the school’s values and policies. Provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher regarding student participation, behavior, and any issues encountered during the lesson. Supervise individual and group learning activities, encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, and active participation. Support classroom transitions and maintain a productive learning atmosphere throughout the school day. Assist in preparing and organizing classroom resources and materials when necessary. Participate in school events, meetings, and duties (e.g., supervision or cover planning) as directed by the leadership team. Support students’ pastoral care and well-being, referring any concerns to the appropriate staff members. Adhere to all safeguarding and child protection procedures in accordance with school policy. In addition to their substantive role as Secondary Cover Teacher, the employee will assume the additional responsibility of Wellbeing Mentor. This will include facilitating a daily 20-minute morning wellbeing session and delivering one one-hour wellbeing lesson per week. The balance of the allocated timetable
