Main Purpose of the RoleThe successful candidate will:
Teach GCSE Science
Inspire students to enjoy and engage with Science
Deliver high-quality teaching and learning
Support vulnerable learners academically and emotionally
Help students achieve qualifications and positive outcomes
Contribute to the wider academy community
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & LearningPlan and deliver engaging Science lessons
Teach GCSE Science
Differentiate learning for students with varied needs
Use ICT effectively in lessons
Assess, track, and report student progress
Maintain high expectations and positive behaviour
Science Department DutiesSet up and clear away experiments
Manage the prep room
Help develop schemes of work and curriculum planning
Student Support & Pastoral CareAct as a tutor for a student group
Monitor attendance, wellbeing, and academic progress
Work closely with intervention staff and the SENCO
Communicate with parents/carers
Wider Academy ContributionParticipate in meetings and training
Support extracurricular activities
Promote safeguarding and student welfare
Contribute positively to academy culture
What We Are Looking ForQualificationsPreferred:
Degree in Science or related subject
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
