Are you a highly organised with a passion for supporting education? Compass Community is seeking a dedicated School Operations Officer to ensure the smooth running of our School’s non-teaching operations. This is a pivotal role, sitting between office staff and senior leadership, where you’ll make a real difference to our staff, pupils, and families.
About the Role
What You’ll Do
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front-of-house service.
Manage school systems and databases, including pupil records, attendance, and safeguarding.
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team.
Coordinate maintenance, health and safety checks, and resource orders.
Support statutory data submissions and compliance processes.
Act as the first point of contact for parents and carers, ensuring timely and professional communication.
Organise school meetings and events, including agendas and minute-taking.
Support with HR administration, admissions, and financial compliance.
to cover two schools- Tull park 4 days a week and Hampshire school 1 day a week
What We’re Looking For
- Strong administrative experience, ideally in education, social care, or a regulatory setting.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Highly organised, with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
- Discreet, professional, and committed to confidentiality.
- Collaborative, resilient, and motivated by supporting others and improving systems.
- A child-centred outlook, aligned with Compass’ REACH ethos.
What Success Looks Like
- Headteachers feel well-supported and equipped to focus on leadership priorities.
- Administrative systems and trackers are accurate, timely, and accessible.
- Compliance data is proactively mo
