Porter/Domestic Assistant (Cleaner) Vacancy Line Manager: Head Housekeeper Hours of work: This is a full-time role. We are operating a 5/7 working pattern. About Stonyhurst Stonyhurst is a leading independent boarding school set within a historic and picturesque rural environment. Our Facilities and Domestic Teams play a central role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, presentation and operational efficiency across our campus. We are seeking a committed and flexible Porter/Domestic Assistant to join our team and support the day-to-day running of the school. Role Purpose The postholder will undertake a dual role, working 50% as a Porter and 50% as a Domestic Assistant, providing essential support across the campus. This includes general portering duties, cleaning responsibilities, and responding to operational needs as directed by the Head Housekeeper. Key Responsibilities Provide general portering support across campus, including movement of equipment, supporting events and responding to operational requests Carry out domestic cleaning duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas Work flexibly across different buildings depending on operational demand, including during busy periods and lettings To ensure the effective cleaning and domestic maintenance of any/all areas of the campus. To comply with all health and safety requirements of the campus as outlined in departmental procedure manuals. To undertake any other duties, commensurate with role, as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
