About this role
Edgbaston College is an independent sixth form in Birmingham, ranked first among all schools and colleges in the city and 25th in the UK for value added. We are looking for a part-time Teacher of Psychology to join us.
In 2025 our students achieved 65.1% A*-A and 87.7% A*-B, with 72.7% progressing to Russell Group universities. Psychology is one of our most popular subjects and sits alongside Biology and Chemistry in the timetables of many of our Medicine and Dentistry applicants.
The role
Six hours of teaching per week, covering one A-Level Psychology class. Days and times are arranged around your availability. You will plan and deliver the course to the specification, set and mark regular assessments, and feed back on each student's progress to the academic team. Class sizes are typically three to four students, so you will know every student's work in detail and teach to the individual rather than the mean.
About you
You will hold a degree in Psychology or a closely related subject and have taught A-Level Psychology previously. You will know your specification thoroughly, mark to it, and be able to explain to a student exactly why an essay scored what it scored. Above all you will be ambitious for your students.
