About this role
Nursery Manager | High Legh Pre-School Nursery | £40-£45k | Cheshire
If you're an early years leader who's ready to do the best work of your career - this is the role for you!
High Legh Pre-School Nursery is a warm, well-regarded charitable nursery in the heart of Cheshire. We have a committed committee behind us, a staff team that cares deeply, and a community that values what we do. What we're ready for now is the right leader to take us to the next level.
The role
As Nursery Manager, you'll be the most senior leader in the setting - accountable for everything from the quality of education and safeguarding to team development, parent relationships, and the nursery's long-term sustainability. You'll report directly to the Committee and have genuine autonomy to shape how we operate and grow.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll be visible, present, and invested, not desk-bound. You'll set the standard, coach the team, build trust with families, and make sure every child in our care gets the very best start.
Key areas of responsibility include educational quality and EYFS delivery, progress tracking and planning, safeguarding leadership (DSL), parent engagement, operational and financial oversight, and acting as the professional link between the staff team and Committee.
Who we're looking for
You'll be qualified to Level 6 or above ( QTS, or equivalent) and you'll have genuine experience of leading a team and improving practice - not just managing it.
We're looking for someone who:
Has a track record of raising standards and holding them there
Leads with clarity and warmth - high expectations, genuine support
Understands the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements inside out
Builds real relationships with staff, families, and governance
Is ambitious for children, and for what a small setting can achieve
If you've been waiting for a role with real responsibility and real scope to make a difference, this is it.
What we offer
