Job Title:MYP Science Teacher
Job Purpose: Provide excellent lessons and learning opportunities for all students so that every child has the opportunity to reach their potential.
Reporting to: MYP Coordinator
Other key relationships: Other teachers in the Upper School, parents and students.
Length of Contract: Two Years

Provide excellent lessons and learning opportunities for all students so that every child has the opportunity to reach their potential in Science.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver excellent, engaging, challenging lessons based on the agreed JTIS International Curriculum (this includes the MYP Curriculum).
· Use excellent Science knowledge and pedagogy to support student learning.
· Plan and implement units that address the MYP Science objectives and assessment criteria ensuring continuity with the JTIS Curriculum.
· Design a coherent curriculum for Science competencies aligned from Grades 6-9 (MYP 1-4).
· Work alonsgisde MYP colleagues to plan Interdisciplinary MYP units.
· Design Implement the teaching and learning according to IB approaches to Teaching (ATT) and IB approaches to learning (ATL).
· Follow the IB philosophy in all planning
· Use a wide range of stratgeies to ensure that all students make rapid progress in Science.
· Regularly check My IB and Programme Resource Centre for latest news, updates, and developments in Science.
· Participate in IB professional development workshops.
· Model the IB Learner Profile attributes.
· Model academic integrity and responsible digital citizenship.
· Use supportive, positive classroom management strategies to ensure excellent behaviour by students that allows learning to flourish.
· Use formative assessment to design and structure lessons that help students reach their potential.
· Implement inquiry-based and engaging instructional lessons that encourage student curiosity and continued improvement.
