Middle/High School English TeacherWe are currently seeking a full-time Middle School English Teacher to join our English Department. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to teach Language Arts at the middle school level while inspiring students to develop strong literacy skills, critical thinking abilities, and a lifelong appreciation for literature.
Position OverviewThe Middle School English Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-based instruction aligned with the U.S. Common Core State Standards. The successful candidate will foster analytical reading, effective writing, speaking, and research skills in a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeach grade 6 and 7 mainstream Language Arts and some High School English (lower level ability students grades 9 and 10)
Deliver engaging, standards-based English instruction
Teach literature, composition, grammar, presentation, and writing
Prepare students for Pre-AP and AP-level rigor
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress
Differentiate instruction to support a group of diverse learners
Work with a large population of English Language learners across a wide range of lexile levels and degrees of English fluency
Incorporate critical thinking, research, and inquiry-based learning
Integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction
Participate in curriculum mapping and vertical alignment
Support school initiatives and student activities
Skills & Qualifications Required:Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field
Valid teaching certification (preferably U.S. state teaching certificate in secondary English)
Experience working with English Language Learners
Minimum 2 years of middle school teaching experience
Familiarity with U.S. Common Core State standards
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Preferred:Master’s degree in Education or English
International school experience
Accreditation familiarity (NEASC, WAS
