About the roleYou will work closely with the SENDCo, teaching staff and wider professionals to support students with literacy-related barriers to learning. Through targeted interventions and in-class support, you will help students build confidence, independence and the skills needed to thrive in school.

Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
Can work effectively with individuals and small groups of students
Is organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload

Is committed to inclusive education and supporting students with additional needs
Has good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
Key responsibilities include:Delivering small-group and 1:1 literacy interventions (reading, writing, spelling and comprehension)
Supporting students in lessons where literacy is a barrier to learning
Monitoring, recording and evaluating student progress
Working with teaching staff and the SENDCo to plan and adapt support strategies
Promoting reading, language development and engagement with literacy across the school
Building positive relationships with students, helping to develop confidence and independence
Liaising with families and external professionals to support student progress
Maintaining accurat
