About this role
Wycombe Abbey seeks a caring and organised Day Matron (Daws Hill Senior Houses) to support the pastoral care and day‑to‑day running of a busy boarding House. This important role contributes to creating a warm, well‑organised and welcoming environment, ensuring pupils feel supported, safe and able to thrive throughout the school day.
Reports to: Housemistresses (Cloister/Wendover/Shelburne) and Senior Resident Matron.
Contract: This is a part‑time, permanent, term‑time contract. The first three months will be a probationary period.
Hours of Work: 20 hours per week, 9.00am – 1.00pm Monday to Friday during Wycombe Abbey term time.
As Day Matron, you will play a key role in supporting the daily life of the boarding House. Responsibilities include maintaining a welcoming and orderly environment, supporting pupil wellbeing, supervising pupils during the day, assisting with the dispensary and basic medical needs, helping with laundry and housekeeping, and carrying out administrative tasks as required. You will contribute to ensuring that House routines run smoothly and that pupils are supported in a calm, friendly and professional manner.
