About the Role
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated support to a named student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will work closely with teaching staff and the Inclusion team to support the student's learning, development and inclusion in school life. You will play an important role in supporting the student to develop confidence, independence, and a positive approach to learning.
What you will do
Provide dedicated one-to-one support to the student.
Work closely with teaching staff to implement the student's EHCP targets and agreed learning and support strategies.
Prepare and adapt resources and support interventions in response to the student's individual needs.
Monitor the student's progress, engagement and wellbeing, maintaining appropriate records and providing feedback to relevant staff.
Promote the student's confidence, independence and inclusion, supporting them to develop as an independent learner.
What we are looking for
Experience of working with young people
Experience of supporting pupils with special educational needs and an understanding of strategies that can support individual learning.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
