About Academia Cotopaxi Academia Cotopaxi is a leading American international school in Quito, Ecuador. Through our Language and Testing Center, we provide high-quality English language instruction to a diverse community of adult learners. About the Role The Language and Testing Center of Academia Cotopaxi is seeking hourly-based English Instructors to teach adult learners from the external community (this role does not involve teaching AC students). Classes are delivered fully virtually, and instructors will guide participants in developing strong communication, academic, and critical thinking skills in English. This is a virtual, hourly, professional services engagement for adult learners outside the Academia Cotopaxi student body. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging virtual language lessons aligned with adult learners' proficiency levels and learning objectives Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through student-centered activities Support adult learners in developing academic writing, oral communication, critical thinking, and confidence in the target language Design lesson materials, presentations, assignments, and assessments to reinforce language acquisition, adapted for online delivery Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to improve language performance Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs, language levels, and cultural backgrounds Promote an inclusive and respectful virtual classroom environment that encourages participation and communication Use technology and digital resources to enhance language learning and student engagement Communicate with students and academic teams regarding progress, expectations, and support needs Collaborate with colleagues to align instructional strategies, curriculum goals, and student support plans Prepare adult learners for academic, professional, or standardized language assessments when needed Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance
