About this role
Are you ready to make a real difference in young lives?
We’re looking for a passionate, dedicated, and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our small, dynamic team in a truly unique school setting. Based within a specialist hospital for young people aged 13–18 with mental health challenges , our school provides a safe, supportive and inspiring educational environment during a critical time in their recovery journey.
A One-of-a-Kind Opportunity
This isn’t your typical classroom role. You’ll be joining a close-knit team of specialists who work hand-in-hand with clinical staff to support and educate a small cohort of students. It’s a role that combines creativity, flexibility, empathy, and above all a deep desire to see young people thrive.
As an LSA, you’ll:
· Support teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging, accessible lessons
· Prepare classroom materials and help create a calm, structured environment
· Offer one-to-one or small group support, tailoring learning to individual needs
· Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage both academic and emotional growth
· Help students develop social skills, confidence, and resilience
If you're someone who thinks outside the box, finds joy in small wins, and brings a good sense of humour to your work—you'll fit right in.
What We're Looking For:
· Experience working with children/young people in a school or educational setting
· Knowledge or experience of working with SEMH and/or SEN needs
· A relevant qualification or background in education/support work
· Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
· An ability to spot when a student is disengaging—and find the right way to bring them back
· Patience, adaptability, and a positive mindset
Bonus points if you bring hobbies or creative skills that could enrich our curriculum—whether it’s music, art, drama, coding, or even gardening!
