We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and creative professional to join our specialist hospital school, supporting young people receiving inpatient mental health care within a Tier 4 CAMHS setting.
This is far more than a traditional Learning Support Assistant role. You will become an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, helping young people reconnect with learning, rebuild confidence and achieve positive outcomes during a critical stage in their recovery.
Working closely with teachers, clinicians and families, you will provide high-quality educational and pastoral support, attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, and act as a key link between the education team and healthcare professionals. You will also have the opportunity to design and deliver creative, engaging activities that promote wellbeing, self-expression and personal development.
What you'll be doing
Supporting students in lessons and through individual learning programmes.
Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
Providing high-quality pastoral support and promoting emotional wellbeing.
Attending MDT meetings and contributing educational observations and reports.
Liaising effectively with nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists and other professionals.
Planning and delivering creative activities such as art, crafts or other enrichment opportunities.
Maintaining accurate records and communicating professionally with colleagues, families and external agencies.
Helping create a safe, nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every young person can thrive.
