An unusual and exciting opportunity has come up for the role of Junior MIS Developer to support the Senior MIS Developer and MIS Developer in maintaining and further developing our sophisticated in-house web-based college software applications, as well as potentially designing and developing new ones in the future. Our web applications serve many functions and are widely used across the college and outside the college by teaching/support staff, students, applicants, and parents, and the way they look and operate in some ways represents the college, for example in the case of Online Application and the ParentPortal systems which are public-facing and used by people who are external to Wyke College.
The successful candidate will be a highly capable, innovative and passionate developer/programmer, with some programming skills, ideally (though not necessarily) with proven experience in web-based programming languages including HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL and SQL server, and a good understanding of relational databases and data structures.
To be successful in this role, it is essential to have the appropriate attitude and aptitude, with the necessary potential and the passion to quickly learn new skills and to gain the necessary experience required for understanding existing code and complex problems, developing and supporting sophisticated web app
