About this role
The role
Dinnington High School is seeking to appoint a Senior Pastoral Leader on a permanent basis to join our dedicated Pastoral Team.
This is a key leadership role at the heart of school life, supporting the Assistant Headteacher in the day-to-day leadership of Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will play a vital part in shaping a calm, purposeful and positive learning environment where high expectations for behaviour and conduct are consistently upheld and embedded across the school.
Working across the school community, you will have a highly visible presence throughout the day, including during lessons and unstructured times, ensuring that behaviour, standards and routines are well-maintained.
The role also carries significant responsibility for overseeing behaviour and standards across KS3 and KS4, contributing to key decisions in line with school policy and acting as the most senior pastoral leader on site when required. In this capacity, you will engage with parents and carers, helping to resolve issues early and prevent escalation to senior leadership, while always maintaining a consistent and supportive approach to students.
About you
Candidates should be suitably skilled in numeracy, literacy and ICT and have GCSE passes in English and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent). You will also need proven experience of working with children and young people, as well as strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of people at all levels. Strong strategic awareness is essential, including the ability to work collaboratively with others across a wide range of school priorities and policies.
