About this role
Position OverviewThe Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality Mathematics instruction within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (DP), fostering students' academic, social and emotional development in line with the philosophy and values of Newton College. The successful candidate will inspire students through inquiry-based learning and contribute actively to the wider school community.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with the IB curriculum.
Teach a combination of MYP Mathematics and DP Mathematics, according to departmental needs.
Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of assessment strategies.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement.
Participate in school events, professional development and other duties expected of teaching staff.
Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
Teaching qualification.
Minimum of two years' teaching experience.
Experience teaching IB MYP and/or IB DP Mathematics is highly desirable.
Previous experience in an international school is an advantage.
Knowledge & SkillsStrong understanding of the IB philosophy and inquiry-based learning.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Proficiency in digital tools for teaching and assessment.
Fluent English (spoken and written).
