In Toto Ed Cambridge is a registered Independent Special School with an Alternative Provision for post-16 students, supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and mental health (MH) needs. We provide a nurturing, structured and supportive environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, develop resilience and re-engage with learning.
We are looking for a passionate and committed Humanities Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who isn’t afraid to get stuck in, work collaboratively and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
The Role
As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across humanities subjects such as History, Geography and/or other humanities disciplines, helping students develop curiosity about the world while building key academic and life skills.
You will use creative and flexible teaching approaches to support students who benefit from smaller classes, personalised support and a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured humanities lessons aligned with the curriculum
Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN and additional barriers to learning
Set high expectations that motivate and challenge pupils to achieve their best
Assess, monitor and report on student progress effectively
Encourage curiosity, discussion and critical thinking in humanities subjects
Supporting Students
Build strong and positive relationships with pupils
Support students’ academic, social and emotional development
Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience and independence in l
