HR Officer

Emanuel School is looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused HR Officer to join our friendly HR team. This is a varied and important role at the heart of school life, supporting recruitment, compliance, onboarding staff, staff training administration and day-to-day HR processes across a busy and ambitious independent school community. Working closely with the HR Director and wider HR team, you will help ensure our recruitment and safeguarding processes run smoothly, our staff records and systems are accurate, and new colleagues receive a professional and welcoming start. From coordinating interviews and pre-employment checks to maintaining the Single Central Record, preparing contracts, supporting training records and assisting with HR administration, you will play a key role in helping the school operate effectively and safely. This role would suit someone with strong HR administrative experience, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to manage a busy and varied workload. You will be approachable, discreet and highly organised, with good written communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels. Experience in a school or education setting, safer recruitment, compliance checks or HR systems would be helpful, but we are equally interested in candidates who bring the right skills, professionalism and willingness to learn.
