We are seeking an inspiring and committed Lecturer and Course Leader for Foundation & Essential Skills who is passionate about transforming the lives of students with SEND and believes wholeheartedly in their ability to make outstanding progress. You will lead and develop our Foundation learners and will be passionate about supporting students with additional needs to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills by delivering inclusive, engaging learning.
As both an exceptional classroom practitioner and proactive Course Leader, you will create a calm, aspirational environment that builds independence, confidence and long-term progression, monitor attendance and achievement, lead course quality processes, act as a Personal Coach, and work collaboratively with colleagues and families to ensure every learner is supported, challenged and empowered to succeed.
The successful candidate will be committed to safeguarding, equality and inclusion, and able to build positive relationships with learners, staff, parents and external professionals. They will be skilled in motivating learners to achieve their potential, promoting independence through real-life contexts such as travel training, budgeting and community-based activities, and enabling students to actively contribute to their local communities. A patient, flexible and student-centred approach is essential, alongside a commitment to high expectations, collaborative working and continuous professional development.
Shortlisting for this role will take place week commencing 22nd June 2026 and it is the intention of the College to interview for this role on 3rd July 2027.
This is a fractional post (FTE 0.4). The pro rata salary for this post is £11,138 - £17,945 per annum.
