HR Administrator

This role is for someone who can keep HR administration accurate, confidential and timely across Eastbourne College and St Andrew’s Prep. You will manage staff records, leave and sickness logging, DBS and occupational health checks, and support appraisal processes — providing a professional first impression of the Bursary team and enabling the wider school to run smoothly.
What you'll be doing
Record and maintain annual leave requests and sickness absences accurately.
Issue, collect and file staff appraisal documentation and other personnel records.
Maintain daily filing of HR documentation in personnel files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
Progress DBS checks and issue occupational health pre-employment medical links.
Draft routine employment-related correspondence and provide administrative support for HR projects.
Support the HR and payroll team in day-to-day tasks and give a professional, courteous impression to staff and external contacts.
Carry out any other administrative duties required to support the HR function.
What we're looking for
Essential
Strong administration experience with confident use of Microsoft Office, including Teams.
Excellent attention to detail and an organised approach to record keeping.
Clear and confident communicator on the telephone and in writing.
Desirable
Familiarity with working in schools.
Previous experience in an HR environment.
