Unity Concord International School is seeking a Head of Special Education for the upcoming academic year.
The Head of Special Education at Unity Concord International School serves as the instructional and administrative leader of the Special Education (SPED) programme. This role is responsible for overseeing assessment processes, ensuring compliance with individualized education planning, and developing systems that support students with diverse learning needs across the school.
The Head of Special Education provides leadership in program development, evaluation, and strategic planning to ensure that students with learning differences receive appropriate support to access the curriculum and achieve academic success. The role also ensures collaboration between departments, supports teachers through professional development, and works closely with school leadership to maintain high standards of inclusive education within the UCIS community.
Core Responsibilities
Special Education Leadership & Programme Oversight
Serve as the instructional and administrative leader of the Special Education department.
Oversee and manage all aspects of the SPED programme, ensuring effective delivery of services and alignment with school-wide academic goals.
Serve as a member of the school leadership team, contributing to cross-departmental planning, compliance, and the development of the school’s overall educational philosophy.
Provide leadership in establishing new programs, improving existing services, and supporting long-term strategic planning for the Special Education department.
Evaluate existing programs and implement improvements based on student performance data and program outcomes.
Represent the department in communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding programming for students requiring specialized support.
Coordinate program development efforts with administrators, mainstream teachers, and special education staff to ensure continuity and logical pro
